Incorporating USA ST Chipsets and NXP Tuners the Yess 4688U is arguably one of the most stable Twin HD PVR operating systems on the Australian market today. The 4688U supports both MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 (H.264) transmissions so its future proof. More importantly it's not dogged down by Free View constraints such as limited fast forward speeds or off PVR file transfers. The addition of USB 2.0 in/out offers a simple solution for archiving and transfer to PC. Simply plug in a hard drive or USB flash drive and copy your favourite recordings.

**** IMPORTANT POINT The HDD included is NOT an ordinary computer HDD. The Western Digital WD5000AVDS 500GB 32MB SATA2 AV GP HDD's installed are manufactured specifically for PVR recording to meet demanding A/V operational environments. With power reduction of up to 40%, they deliver cool and quiet operation and  long term reliability.These drives are designed to last in high temperature, "always on" streaming digital audio/video environments such as those found in PVR recorders and media players. The drive arm frequently sweeps across the disk to reduce uneven wear on the drive surface common to audio/video streaming application.


True Twin HD Tuners make it possible to record two different HD or SD channels, from two different broadcasters simultaneously (such as 7/10 or ABC/9) while replaying a previously recorded program from the hard drive. Record crystal clear free-to-air television with stunning picture quality in HD. Make sure you research each brand as some claim (such as Tevion)Twin HD recording when all they can do is record one channel while watching another.



The DVB-T4688U now includes USB input/output for transfer of files to PC for archiving, burn to DVD, Bluray and playback of MPEG 4 (.trp),MP3 & JPEG photos via USB flash drive or HDD. The unit can even be set up to record directly to a USB stick or external HDD rather than the internal HDD. You can also transfer files from the internal HDD to an external HDD or flash drive or visa versa. Most USB PVR’s only allow you to copy files out of the device, or in the case of Tevion the USB is only for firmware updating. The USB on the DVBT4688 works both directions. The Yess 4688U unit is fully MPEG-2/4 H.264 compatible and totally future proof.

Timeshift for pause rewind live TV, Full function Universal remote with learning abilty, teletext and closed captions, favourite channel programming and a quick edit tool for deleting advertisements from recordings. This unit also meets Australian Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS): In "Stand-by mode", the electricity consumption is less 1W.

High definition multimedia interface (HDMI) output allows a single cable to transmit the highest digital audio and video to your TV, AV receiver, or any other HDMI enabled device. Where supported you can also watch your favourite programs in Dolby Digital or AC-3 in 5.1Ch surround sound via HDMI, S/PDIF audio outputs.  If your unit doesn’t support HDIM the unit also includes component RGB or composite AV connections.
